Welcome to the School Counseling Corner
Greetings students and parents, my name is Mr. Chip Osborn and I am the secondary guidance counselor for the Ahfachkee School. I am very excited to start a new year at our school! My role as the middle and high school guidance counselor is to provide the resources, tools and assistance students may need to be successful in school. This includes support with academics, personal, social or emotional needs and career/college awareness.
Our guidance program will be aligned to the American School Counselor Association ASCA student standards including mindsets and behaviors for student success. These standards describe the knowledge, attributes and skills students need to achieve academic success, college and career readiness and social emotional development. We will incorporate Mindfulness practice as a tool for total well-being. Character Education will be another central tenant of the guidance program.
This year my goal is to strengthen our college and career advisement program and student transition to post-secondary education. We are excited to bring back our
Executive Internship program for seniors to gain real world career experience right here on our Reservation, while still earning high school credit.
Please review the slides below as they contain an overview of High School graduation and promotion requirements as well as college entrance exams.
Let us have a great year together!
